Poster Design - Illiteracy

Poster Design

Subject Matter : Inaccessibility of education (worldwide)

The poster incorporates a visual inspired by LEGO. The poster talks mainly about children's education and their inaccessibility to schools, so using Lego in the visual is a comment at a child’s innocence and playfulness.

The visual also acts as an infographic to educate the audience on the topic.

Through this poster, we aim to educate the audience by giving them a visual that helps them see and register that 1 in every 5 children does not have access to schools, worldwide. The use of ‘yellow’ color in Lego signifies the fact that 20% of the world population (every 1 in 5 people) have their futures in danger due to illiteracy.

Furthermore, the poster prompts you to scan a QR code, which takes you to a webpage donation portal, where you can send your donations.
Client : Lahore Literary Festival is an organization that has been working to conserve, promote and foster culture, literature and overall education. On the event of Lahore Literary Festival, LLF and UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) collaborate in a fundraising campaign to open schools worldwide.

Target Group : The target group encompasses the attendees of Lahore literary Festival, who can engage in charity, both as a physical and an online activity.
Process : The design development process involved lots of sketches, photography and image editing. I used my cell phone camera and a tripod stand to take high resolution 8K pictures of LEGO blocks arranged in a line. Then I edited the images so as to incorporate them as the main visual of this poster. Given above are some of the ideation sketches I did for the poster layout.
